Most often, third-generation artificial turf systems combining sand and rubber granule infills are used for football fields. This combination provides the necessary shock absorption and stability, offering players comfortable and familiar playing conditions.

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has established clear standards for field classification, and we always follow these requirements during installation.

The Water-based system is the most professional solution for field hockey. It’s an artificial turf with little to no sand infill, featuring dense and short fibers that ensure fast ball movement and precise control. To achieve optimal smoothness and reduce friction, such fields are watered before matches. These surfaces are used in international championships and top-level training facilities.

The Sand-dressed system is a sand-coated solution – a compromise between water-based and sand-filled surfaces. The fibers are longer than in water-based turf, but their upper part remains exposed, with sand filling only part of the fiber height. This ensures good ball control, smooth play, and lower maintenance costs.

The Sand-filled system is a traditional field hockey surface where sand fills almost the entire fiber height. Such fields are durable and versatile, though gameplay is slower and ball control less precise.

Because of these features, sand-filled surfaces are now more commonly used for multifunctional sports courts where field hockey is not the only sport played.

Although this sport is not popular in Lithuania and the demand for hockey fields is relatively low, we are fully competent to carry out such projects in accordance with FIH standards.
